Ridge Mountains

The Ridge Mountains are the range that separates Argatia and Espandor on the central continent of Yarel. They run north-to-south as an offshoot from the Talon Mountains and have a 'curl' at their base dividing Argatia and Kornov.

Nominally, the ridge mountains are ruled by Argatia but in reality they have never been tamed. The true power on the mountains are the mountainfolk. A race of nomadic wandering tribesmen, the mountainfolk are sef-sufficient and keep to themselves. There are no known sightings of the mountainfolk trading in Argatian or Espantii settlements.
The mountainfolk are known to conduct brutal raids on Argatian settlements that lie in the foothills. The most notable recent attack was against Barysh, which has been razed to the ground and subsequently abandoned.
