Summary
Spoke with travellers, met (and murdered) Mosald Iten
The beginning of the game session sees the party on the road on horseback leaving the city of Jestle. The game session ended around late morning of the second day of their quest to find the missing caravan of equipment, as the party are approaching the village of Hant and the woodlands.

[edit] Meeting a farmer and his wife
On the road, the party met a farmer and his wife. They were taking a wheelbarrow full of turnips north to Jestle. After a chat, Bastion and Gemini handed them a gold piece each (Bastion had noticed that the woman was pregnant). The couple were extremely excited about this, although Gemini then scared them off by showing off his powers. They told the party that some trees had fallen, blocking the main road between Hant and Pladwell. It wasn't so bad they they couldn't get past the blockage but it would certainly stop a large caravan.
[edit] Meeting the merchant in Felton
In the town of Felton the party met Mosald Iten at an inn. Mosald began speaking with Gemini and introduced himself as a purveyor of magical goods and equipment. He casually offered the party some oil that would make their weapons sharper for a brief period, he also said that he had potions and perhaps other magical goods for sale.
He began suggesting that possibly the party had something magical to sell. He didn't name any specific item but he suggested a number of times that possibly they wanted to sell something. The reaction from the group was generally to snap back and say "No, we have nothing to sell", although Gemini piped up more than once that they might (before being chastised by Grace and sent upstairs to his room). Weapon went upstairs to guard the box of reagents and between he and Bastion they took shifts guarding it.
[edit] His death
Since they distrusted him, and having a feeling that he was hiding something, Gerix and Smilie following him to the stables (presumably as he went to leave) and confronted him about his true intentions. He admitted that he had been expecting to see the group of them and that he had been told that they might have something magical with them that they would be willing to sell. He wouldn't give his sources up directly but half-admitted that he was likely working for a mage guild.
After interrogating him, Gerix shook his hand and used his necromantic powers to drain the life from Mosald. Before he could cry out for help in any meaningful way, Smilie thrust a dagger into the back of his skull, finishing him off. The body was hidden first in pile of straw and then in manure. Smilie searched the body and found the following:
- Pouch of dust of farming - useful to commoners, helps crops grow and resist the elements - currently unidentified
- Pouch of oil of keenness - doubles threat range of a bladed weapon, duration is 1 minute) - currently unidentified
- 2 potions of cure light wounds - currently unidentified
-
Gemstone valued at aroud 20gp (appraisal check passed)(this has now been sold) - Some other gold and silver
Smilie hid all of the items (except the money and gem) in Bastion's saddlebags at first. When they were discovered later by Grace, Bastion threw them out and discarded them. Grace then collected them and is currently holding them all.
[edit] The 'woodsmen'
The party met three 'woodsmen' travelling south, moving past them (as the party stopped to check for tracks and the like). The party spoke briefly to them, with Grace being a little rude to them. They quite quickly left and headed on ahead of the party.
A little later the party spoke with a farmer who said that the woodsmen and their cart had picked up speed and were riding on ahead in a rush. Also, Blázen noted that their tracks were too shallow for a cart that still had a large amount of wood inside. It is likely that they threw their load aside in order to speed up and move ahead.
Also, later Blázen saw their tracks headed towards Hant, where they said that they had been going to Tallowbrookmap. The party suspect that these men may have been spies or scouts and have now rushed ahead to tell whoever they work for.
[edit] The five mages on the bridge
As the party crossed the bridge at Parwin Ford, they saw five men who were wearing robes associated with the Ristian Conjurers. They tried to tempt the party with platinum in order to get "something important and magical" (the party assume they refer to the box). They said that they could offer a lot, even suggesting that they would consider paying 650 platinum pieces for it. They also said that (whoever the party were intending to deliver the box to) might not be able to afford payment.
