Summary

Fought bandits on hillside pass, arrived at Hant

This game session started late morning on day 2 of their quest to find the missing caravan of equipment, as the party approach Hant from the north. It ended shortly after midday on the same day, as the party depart from Hant, headed through the woods towards Pladwell.

[edit] The bandits' ambush

Whilst in a lightly wooded area slightly north of Hant, travelling south, the party spotted a small armed group ahead, hiding in some undergrowth.

Bastion attracted their attention as he confronted them at a range, at which point they immediately attacked. A short battle ensued and Bastion was lightly injured. The party did see that three of the bandits who attacked them were the woodsmen on a cart who had lied about their destination.

Gerix was the one who confronted the enemy leader, attacking him with a summoned skeleton. The leader was quickly disabled (knocked to zero hit points).

[edit] The bandit leader

The leader was interrogated briefly by the party, although he fell unconscious when Gemini pressed fingers against his wounds. He was taken to Hant and turned over to the milita there.

When interrogating the leader, the party discovered that he (and his men) had been paid to attack the party and was given their descriptions by some mages. He wasn't able to provide a perfect description of the clothing that the mages were wearing, but (amongst other guilds) it could have been a match for the Ristian Conjurers (the guild who had tried to persuade the party to sell them something previously).

[edit] Information gathered at Hant

The party spent about an hour in Hant (taking them just past midday). While there they were told again about the fallen trees on the road to the south, headed towards Pladwell.

They were also told that traffic was still coming through from the south but less so than usual. Also, there had been several reports of bandit attacks in the woods to the south. Groups of larger than two or three people had been attacked by bandits. Some had suffered casualties, some had made it away.

The party chose to push on south towards Pladwell after the end of the hour (in which time they also refilled their waterskins and had an opportunity to purchase small goods). Going on the time of day and the expected journey time, the party expect to be travelling through the woods overnight. If uninterrupted they would expect to reach Pladwell a little after dawn the next day.

The party decided that if they do need to make camp and sleep for the night, it should be away from the road.
